Emrick was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She earned an art degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola with concentrations in photography and sculpture. She has won awards for photography and painting. Her current artworks on display are mixed-media fusing photography, printing, paper-making, paint, and sketching. Emrick lives in Decatur, AL and works as the exhibits coordinator at Carnegie Visual Arts Center.
