DICHOTOMY?! reconcile. challenges the impulse to divide ourselves into opposing categories: good and evil, virtue and vice, salvation and damnation. At its center, an angel and a demon are tethered together, each longing for what the other possesses. The demon seeks redemption, while the angel abandons perfection and descends willingly into the abyss below. Neither finds fulfillment within the role they have been assigned.

Surrounded by a sea of watchful eyes, the figures become reflections of the ways identity is shaped through judgment, expectation, and performance. Drawing from music, philosophy, literature, and personal mythology, the work questions whether moral binaries reveal anything meaningful about human nature or merely obscure its complexity.

Rather than choosing a side, the painting argues for reconciliation. It suggests that wholeness is found not through purity or perfection, but through accepting the contradictions that make us human. We are not dichotomies to be resolved. We are complex, unfinished, and capable of containing seemingly incompatible truths at once.
